Lots of numbers are at play tonight. Giants left-hander Randy Johnson (1-2, 6.16 ERA) is seeking career win No. 297. He faces Rockies batters who have hit a combined .237 against him, with just two homers in 131 at-bats. Todd Helton, for instance, has no home runs and just 10 hits against Johnson in 42 at-bats (.238). The Rockies , however, won't know exactly what they'll get from Johnson, 45. In his most recent outing, at Arizona, Johnson issued seven walks in 3 1/3 innings, his most bases on balls in nearly a decade. In his start before that, he held the Diamondbacks to one hit and no runs over seven innings. The Rockies counter with right-hander Ubaldo Jimenez (1-3, 7.58 ERA). He's trying to snap out of one of the worst slumps of his young career. He has pitched 4 1/3 innings or less in each of his last three starts - all losses.
