--RHP Huston Street stretched his string of scoreless outings to six. In those games he has pitched five innings and allowed three hits and a walk with five strikeouts. His ERA has dropped from 8.59 to 5.11.
--SS Troy Tulowitzki homered in the first, his fourth of the season and first since April 11 against the Phillies, a span of 72 at-bats between homers. He doubled in the second, giving Tulowitizki multiple extra-base hits in a game for the first time this season, although each of his past five hits have gone for extra bases dating back to his triple in the eighth inning May 2 at San Francisco.
--IF Omar Quintanilla struck out as a pinch hitter in the ninth, his first at-bat since April 28. It was the ninth game and 10th at-bat this season for Quintanilla, who has yet to start.
--RF Brad Hawpe has gone 8-for-23 with two homers and three RBI since returning to the lineup May 2 after not starting three games due to a neck contusion. He hit his team-leading ninth double, extended his team lead in RBI to 19 and had his eighth multi-hit game of the season and third in his past four games.
--RHP Matt Belisle has inherited eight runners, six of whom have scored.
--RHP Jason Hammel has failed to pitch five innings twice in his three starts. In three games, including two starts, at Coors Field, he's 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA, having allowed 20 hits and 13 runs, 12 earned, in 10 innings with six walks and seven strikeouts. Hammel lasted 4 1/3 innings, breaking the streak of nine consecutive games in which Rockies starters have pitched at least five innings.
--3B Garrett Atkins was not in the lineup for the second straight game, with Ian Stewart again getting the start at 3B. Atkins is 9-for-36 with runners in scoring position and hitting .233 (7-for-30) against left-handers and .221 (15-for-68) against right-handers. He's 0-for-8 in his past two games and 1-for-14 in his past four. Stewart, who hit a two-run homer on his final at-bat Thursday to break a string of 13 hitless at-bats, had not started two straight games since he made three straight starts April 27-29 and had not made consecutive starts at third base this season.
--CF Dexter Fowler was not in the lineup after striking out three times Thursday. He has three hits in his past 19 at-bats with eight strikeouts. Fowler, the Rockies' leadoff hitter, had scored one run in his past seven starts.
MEDICAL WATCH:
INF Jeff Baker (sprained left wrist) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 27.
LHP Franklin Morales (strained left lat) went on the 15-day disabled list April 22.
RHP Ryan Speier (strained left hamstring) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 19. He threw a bullpen session April 27.
RHP Taylor Buchholz (partial tear in right ulnar collateral ligament) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 27, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 22. The Rockies are being very cautious with Buchholz, trying to make sure the partial tear doesn't become a full-blown one and require Tommy John surgery that would sideline Buchholz for about a year.
LHP Jeff Francis (left shoulder surgery in February 2009) went on the 60-day disabled list April 5. He likely will miss the entire season. Recovery time ranges from six to 12 months, meaning it's possible Francis could pitch in September but not very likely.
