--LHP Brian Fuentes rejoined the Rockies and was removed from the personal bereavement list before Friday's game. Fuentes said his 1-year-old son responded to treatment, "and things are positive." He declined to discuss details.

--RHP Steve Register was returned to Triple-A Colorado Springs without pitching during the two games he spent with the team, making room on the roster for LHP Brian Fuentes. Register has been on the big-league roster for five games this year and faced one hitter, whom he struck out. Odds are he will be recalled after the end of the SkySox's season on Monday.

--RHP Casey Weathers, the Rockies' No. 1 draft pick in 2007, won't be among the call-ups, manager Clint Hurdle said. Instead, he will pitch in the Arizona Fall League, where Weathers will have a more prominent role. "For his development, that is more important than being up here in (an auxiliary) role," said manager Clint Hurdle.

--The Rockies have 18 stolen bases against San Diego, their most against any team. They have 14 against Cincinnati. The Rockies lead the majors with 126 stolen bases, one more than Tampa Bay.

--RHP Ubaldo Jimenez, who starts Saturday night, is 1-2 in three starts against San Diego this season, losing both starts in San Diego before earning a July 2 victory at Coors Field when he allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings. He is coming off a no-decision in the Rockies' 4-3, 12-inning victory over Cincinnati on Sunday, when he allowed three runs in six innings.

BY THE NUMBERS: 2 -- Home runs in 427 career at-bats for IF Omar Quintanilla, including one in 195 at-bats this season, before he hit a game-winning shot Aug. 24. Quintanilla had gone 121 at-bats since his only other homer, a two-run shot off Chicago's Ryan Dempster on May 31 at Wrigley Field.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "Not always in this game do appropriate things happen, but that was very appropriate that that happened for him today, because he does his work so professionally. Shows up every day; I've never heard him complain about anything." -- Manager Clint Hurdle, on utility IF Omar Quintanilla's walk-off homer that gave the Rockies a 4-3 win in 12 innings on Aug. 24.
