--The Rockies are 1-4 at home this season and 1-6 in their current stretch of 19 consecutive games against NL West clubs. They are 0-5 in games decided by one or two runs and 0-3 in one-run games.
--IF Clint Barmes' first career pinch-hit homer was the Rockies' second of the season. The first was by Ian Stewart at Arizona off Billy Buckner on April 8. --IF Ian Stewart made his fourth start at 2B with Clint Barmes going to the bench. Stewart entered the game hitting .333 with three homers and eight RBIs and manager Clint Hurdle said the slumping Rockies need his offense regardless of what Barmes can bring defensively behind sinkerball RHP Aaron Cook.
"We know that Clint Barmes is a better defender," Hurdle said, "but with the way Stewart is swinging, we need to get his bat in there."
--The Rockies are 3-3 this season at Chase Field, where they have played two three-game series and will return for a final one Sept. 18. Last year, the Rockies went 1-8 at Chase Field while losing 15 of 18 games to the Diamondbacks. The loss kept the Rockies from winning back-to-back series at Chase Field for the first time since 2007 -- May 21-23 and Aug. 31-Sept. 2.
BY THE NUMBERS: 6.87 -- ERA for the Rockies bullpen, through April 19. The relievers had allowed 11 homers in 36 2/3 innings.
